Privacy Notice
GDPR, and what happens with your data

I take your privacy and the protection of your personal data very seriously. In line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), I want to be transparent about how I collect, use, and protect your data.

What personal data do I collect?
I collect names, personal stories, contact details (such as email addresses), and other details that you choose to share with me to help craft your ceremony. The ceremony script itself remains my intellectual property, but the personal details you share with me are used solely for writing your ceremony.

How do I use your data?
Your personal data is used only for the purpose of creating and delivering your ceremony. Once the final ceremony script is completed, you will review and approve it prior to the ceremony. Ceremony scripts and any notes taken are stored securely on computer files, and handwritten notes are kept in a secure office, behind a locked door.

Use of Photos and Videos
I will never use or share any photos or videos from your ceremony without your explicit permission. If you do agree to let me use them, I will respect any conditions you set. Should you later decide that you do not want your photos or videos used, you can contact me at any time, and I will remove them immediately. You can reach me via hello@marcusarmstrongcelebrant.com.

What is my lawful basis for processing?
The legal basis I rely on is the performance of a contract with you. In addition, I may also rely on your consent for any special categories of data (such as personal stories) or specific requests you make.

How long do I keep your data?
I will retain your personal data for 10 years after your ceremony. This period allows me to be your celebrant again if you wish to renew vows, host a naming ceremony, or conduct a future event. After this period, all personal data will be securely deleted.

Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, to request corrections, erasure, or to restrict how I process it. If you have any concerns, or if you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact me at hello@marcusarmstrongcelebrant.com.

Sharing your data
I will never share your details with third parties without your consent, except where required by law or in response to a legal investigation.

Contact Information
If you have any questions or concerns about how I handle your data, you can reach me at [your email] or [your business address]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection authority.
