Exactly what we wanted!
As a couple that met through a niche hobby shared by many of our friends, we knew we wanted to incorporate this into our day. Not as a fully themed wedding, but to have acknowledgment towards how we've built our life together. To this end we wanted a celebrant who would be able to weave this into the ceremony in a manner that would be understood by everyone, regardless if they themselves had any knowledge about the hobby. We thought Marcus would be perfect for this based upon his themed wedding package and he did not disappoint us at all. He had many fantastic ideas and suggestions for structuring the ceremony itself where we were uncertain of what to do.
The first draft we recieved of the ceremony was fantastic and showed he had clearly gone above and beyond to research about the hobby. We are also a multinational household (English-German) and he wrote the ceremony in a manner that included both nationalities, as well as honoring our request for a slightly earlier delivery of the speech so that we could get it translated and printed for the German speakers in good time.
On the day he was upbeat and professional, and made sure to walk us through what to expect beforehand. We had many comments from friends and family about how lovely they thought the ceremony was.

From the start we knew Marcus was a great fit for our day. He listened to our requirements, how we wanted to be addressed, quirky elements we wanted to include, our love story and elements of a traditional ceremony that we wanted to skip.

There aren’t enough stars or words to convey how important the role Marcus played at our rather unconventional wedding. So much so, he had a place at the top table for the wedding breakfast.
Marcus not only had full responsibility for creating a funny and uplifting ceremony that had our guests in stitches, it continued throughout the day as he doubled as the master of ceremonies.
The result was a slick operation, seamlessly moving guests and service providers on time and without fuss. Ceremony, breakfast, speeches and disco all took place in different parts of a large property and without his relaxed but authoritative manner it would have been chaos.

Marcus is absolutely brilliant. He was our celebrant and master of ceremonies for our wedding and we cannot recommend him highly enough.
He’s attentive, fun with great attention to detail and really puts in the effort to get to know you as individuals and as a couple.
In the build up to the wedding, we had meetings online and in person so that he could really personalise the ceremony and the whole day. Marcus came up with some great ideas which we incorporated and was always engaged and enthusiastic about shaping the ceremony into what we wanted.
He drafted the perfect ceremony which reflected us brilliantly and he captured the exact tone that we were looking for. He really was a 10/10 celebrant.
As MoC, he was equally as brilliant and was exactly what we needed. He was such a calming presence and had our full trust that he’d help sort any unexpected issues we may face on the day.
He really went above and beyond and we felt he had genuine emotion and put so much care into creating our special day. He was the perfect balance of involved but in no way intrusive and was always available. Marcus also helped the bridesmaid with her rehearsal run through of her reading in the morning of the wedding, which was a great touch!
Marcus’ involvement during the whole process was brilliant and we cannot thank him enough for all of his efforts! We received countless compliments about him as celebrant and master of ceremonies and many of our guests thought he had known us for longer which shows just how attentive, caring and funny he was throughout.

I cannot express how grateful we are to have had Marcus as our wedding celebrant. Our journey to the altar was filled with unexpected challenges, especially when the groom's father passed away just four days before our big day. We came across Marcus while searching for a celebrant and he immediately stood out as being a little different. From the start he was communicative, easy to connect with, and really spoke our language. He met us on site where we planned to having our ceremony, listened carefully and was genuinely interested in getting to know us and our story.
Marcus was determined to create a ceremony that reflected our our relationship and he absolutely delivered. Our ceremony was deeply personal, full of the stories of our lives together and it felt authentically us.

We were so lucky to have Marcus as our Celebrant and MC on our Wedding day. Firstly, he is just an awesome human - so kind, friendly and fun. He took the time to really get to know us and our story, and created a personalised and thoughtful ceremony which made us laugh and cry (happy tears!!).
Marcus was full of ideas of how to make our ceremony unique and special, and reflect us as a couple for which we will be eternally grateful. We didn't know what we were looking for when we started our search for a celebrant, but we stumbled across Marcus's website and were drawn in by his welcome video. We arranged a call with him and knew straight away that he was the celebrant for us. Marcus is friendly, relatable and approachable and we knew immediately that we were in good hands.
After booking him, we had several meetings with Marcus, one of which involved him coming to our venue in order to get a feel for the space. He was organised and professional throughout and gave us so many ideas which helped us to collaborate on our perfect ceremony.
Marcus made our ceremony so unique and personal. He weaved humour throughout it and created the perfect blend of love and laughter. It was an incredibly memorable ceremony and so many of our guests told us that it was the hilight of their day.
We couldn't reccomend Marcus enough and are hoping that some of our guests will have him as their celebrant in the future so we have the pleasure of attending a Marcus led ceremony again!

An exceptional storyteller - and a wonderful celebrant!
We worked with Marcus to plan our special day over the spring and summer of 2025. Though I don’t know for sure, I suspect we’re not his usual clients: we’re both in our 60s, with three marriages and five adult children and one grandchild between us, and for a variety of reasons we had decided against getting legally married. But nonetheless we wanted to commit to each other publicly, to take vows to be together for life in some kind of ritualized way, and we wanted to do so in front of the people we love most, who ordinarily are scattered around the world (the UK, the Netherlands, the US) and who wouldn’t ever have the occasion to meet unless we made it happen. But we weren’t really sure what this would look like or what this kind of ceremony would consist of. All we were sure about was two things: that we wanted someone who could be serious and poised and witty and articulate without being treacly or cringey; and that in some kind of money-is-no-object idealized dreamworld, we would hire Stephen Fry.
From within the first five minutes of our initial video call with Marcus, he understood us perfectly. (I think the mention of Stephen Fry was all he needed.) His warm, engaging, thoughtful manner immediately put us at our ease. He also understood intuitively the sensitivities involved in a late-life marriage with adult children and former partners in attendance. He explained his storytelling method, how he would draw on the anecdotes and material we provided to craft something elegant and entertaining and yet deeply personal. We came to the call with a list of three potential celebrants, and Marcus was the first one we spoke to. After the call, we decided to forego interviewing anyone else and booked him the next day.
The ceremony that he produced far exceeded our expectations. It was much more than simply a well-crafted script – it was (in the best possible sense) an immersive, even theatrical experience. We held the ceremony on the grounds of an inn on the edge of Dartmoor, where Marcus met us in person for the first time two months before the event, and where he immediately looked at the setting through the eyes of a dramatist, suggesting ways of staging the different parts of the celebration and of the ceremony in particular areas of the grounds chosen with an eye to their emotional and dramatic effects. As for the script: he used the anecdotes and messages we sent him to craft an exceptionally engaging celebration, intimate without being embarrassing, lively without being trivial, serious in all the right places. Everyone we spoke to after the ceremony remarked on how wonderful it was, many of them speaking through tears.
We also hired Marcus to serve as master of ceremonies for the day, and he did so brilliantly, keeping the events flowing, helping everyone to feel relaxed and at home. For us, and even though this was a small event (a little over 30 people in total), it was wonderful to know that someone else was seeing to all the practicalities, and that we could relax and enjoy.
To sum up: we cannot praise Marcus enough. His creativity, sensitivity, intelligence, wit, and personal warmth were unmistakeable throughout the months that we worked with him. And quite honestly, I doubt even Stephen Fry could have done as good a job.

How to explain Marcus. In a word absolutely phenomenal.
From the moment we first communicated with him, Marcus was incredible with us. He was patient with us and helped us shape our ceremony into the day we will cherish forever.
For someone we had never met he was able to give us so many fantastic ideas that were just perfect and were exactly what we wanted, it was as if we had known him our entire lives.
Meeting in person was just as amazing, he travelled so far just to spend an hour at our chosen venue so that he could get a feel, a layout and to see if his ideas would work…. and they did marvellously.
My husband bless him isn’t the most creative with words so he struggled when it came to writing is vows, fear not Marcus was there to lend a hand and some creativeness.
Our ceremony was beautiful, we were given a preview but we didn’t read because we wanted to be surprised.

A Special and Personal Wedding Ceremony!
We had the pleasure of having Marcus as our celebrant on the 20th July 2025 at Clevedon Hall.
Marcus has been invaluable from the start, from our initial video calls, to meeting beforehand at the venue, to the actual big day and helping prep our bridesmaid and groomsmen for their readings. My wife and I knew we wanted a really personal wedding ceremony script, something that represents who we are and the story of our relationship. Marcus was very patient during the script drafting process, and there was a lot of back and forth in tweaking the script to make it as close to our vision as possible. His story telling skills were class, and we liked the jovial and positive persona he brought to the ceremony. We were both extremely pleased with the end result, and the feedback from our guests was that our ceremony was so special and different to what they had experienced before.
Marcus also offered some creative suggestions to our ceremony such as incorporating a knot tying ceremony which was really cool and worked surprisingly well!

"Best Ceremony Ever"
The words titling the review are just one of many compliments Marcus and our ceremony received from our guests, all of them complimented extremely highly the ceremony, Marcus himself, the layout, the words spoken, the special unique touches and so on, the vast majority of which came from Marcus and his amazing take on how to create something special out of our initial ideas.
We were not your typical couple being that we were already married abroad and this ceremony was mainly for our friends and family to see. We wanted to link the two together in a number of ways and had some ideas but Marcus through our planning calls, script writing and even video examples of the script being spoken brought them all to life ahead of the big day, so we knew almost exactly how the ceremony would sound and flow so there would be no surprises.
However the one big surprise was the delivery on the day by Marcus and how it not only made our guests feel but also the two of us in a way that we did not think would happen given this was more for the guests than us. It was expertly delivered, it made us laugh, made us cry and made us re-live our special moments that we had in our lives together so far and our original ceremony all over again.
